BA Senior Project
Project 1, 2, and 3
My BA Senior Project is a collection of works inspired and influenced by the process of the Sea-Change Design. Using water and the concept of flow as my muse, I incorporated those elements into my illustrations and choice of type. Taking the time to research and explore the capabilities and immense potential of water, I poured my energy into designing projects that connect concepts, illustrate intentions, and tell a story.
I hope you enjoy my series of design.
Project 1
Project 1: Orihon fold
Skills: Brainstorming, conceptualizing, visual storytelling
Tools: Illustrator, Indesign, Photoshop
In this project, I designed an orihon fold to represent my classmate, Stephanie. After a long talk about her experiences of water and learning about who she was a person, I started to sketch out my ideas. I wanted to incorporate as many aspects of her personality I could into this 8-panel story.
I decided to combine her memories of the morning waves when she walked along the beach with her family and her love of illuminated jelly fish in the aquarium in this ethereal image. When creating this concepts, I experimented with many versions of the waves and the jellyfish before I developed its final form.
Final print, 8 - panel, 4” x 32”
Project 2
Project 2: Poster
Skills: Visual ideation
Tools: Illustrator, Indesign, Photoshop
I created a 2021 calendar that places emphasis on my calling intention, “How can I create meaningful connections, within humanity to inspire creativity, thoughtfulness, and happiness. I explored the harmonic patterns of waves and ripples to create these vibrant hills forming a vivid landscape. For the calendar aspect, I chose to use dots represent the dates with the months accompanied by different phases of the moon.
Project 3
Project 3 : Brand Identity (non-profit)
Role: Website Designer
Skills: Wire-framing, lo-fi prototyping
Tools: Figma, Illustrator, Photoshop
For this branding project, I collaborated with 4 students to create a non-profit organization. When we shared our ideas of how to improve the cleanliness of the ocean, we decided to make something that would benefit both people and the sea.
Mermade, is an organization that collect oceanic plastics and repurposes the waste into a functional, interactive installations for the public.
