Communicating and branding with typography

Ideation

A poster project focused on the brand identity of my classmate. My peer, Stuart, is a nerdy and reserved artist with a passion for sci-fi and hopes for a stable future. After chatting with him for a few hours about anime and Blade Runner, we worked together to make a poster that best represents him as a person.

I went for a graphic that symbolize his burst of creative energy and brimming potential in a gradient light emerging from darkness. I chose 5 words to describe his personality: Ambitious, Sincere, Balanced, Genuine, and Imaginative. As for the typeface, I decided on Ailerons, which was inspired by and used in air crafts. The type is a lean, futuristic, and bold fit for Stuart.
